Privacy Policy
How PetChipHelp intends to handle information submitted through this website.
Information we may collect
When forms are enabled, we may collect information you choose to submit such as your name, email address, case description and limited pet-related information needed to provide guidance. We should not ask for passwords, card details in free-text fields or unnecessary sensitive information.
How information is used
Information may be used to respond to enquiries, prepare requested guidance, operate the service, prevent abuse and improve the website. Marketing should only be sent where there is an appropriate lawful basis and any required consent.
Microchip numbers
A microchip number should be treated as record-identifying information. PetChipHelp should minimise storage of full chip numbers and avoid displaying them publicly. Official keeper records remain with the relevant database operator.
Service providers
When hosting, email, analytics or payment services are added, those providers may process limited information on our behalf under their own security and contractual arrangements.
Retention and rights
Information should be kept only as long as reasonably needed for the stated purpose and applicable legal obligations. A production policy should include the correct controller identity, contact method and UK data-protection rights process before launch.
