Immediate checklist

Contact the microchip databaseReport the pet missing and confirm your phone, email and address are up to date.
Contact local servicesNotify nearby vets, rescue organisations and your local authority or dog warden where appropriate.
If theft is suspectedContact police and keep the incident or crime reference number.

Prepare one clear missing-pet record

  • Recent photograph
  • Microchip number stored privately
  • Pet name, breed, colour and distinguishing features
  • Last-seen place, date and time
  • Your reachable phone number
Be cautious about scammers who claim to have found your pet and demand money or verification codes. Do not share account passwords or one-time codes.
