What you need
- Your dog's microchip number
- Access to the email or phone details you normally use for pet records
- Any existing microchip certificate, vet paperwork or adoption documents if available
After you identify the database
Use the database's official website or support team to update keeper details. If the record is still in a previous keeper's name, follow the transfer process rather than creating a duplicate registration elsewhere.
PetChipHelp is an independent guidance service. We can help identify the database and explain the process, but official microchip records are changed by the database provider that holds the registration.
Have the microchip number?
Check which database appears to hold the record, then go straight to the right provider.
